ABOUT ME

Miss Foo is a happily married thirty something, currently working hard at making ends meet and finding inspiration in a "9 till 5". She fancies herself as a modern day 70's throwback housewife Wendy, and whilst staring aimlessly at her computer screen, she likes to day dream about all kinds of crap, including: drinking wine, racing round in her Mini, shopping on ebay, having her hair cut & coloured, cleaning and tidying her apartment, booking a holiday, what to make for dinner and wondering what movie to watch later...

PUT YOUR HAND IN A PARTY WAVE...

I have written my first "Foo Review" for the Guernsey Press...

Adrienne Smart is my name and following "The Fades" is my game.  This is due to get published Easter Weekend.  CITIN...

A capacity crowd last Saturday emphasised the popularity of 80's electronica outfit, Fade2Grey, as they hit the stage for the first time this decade.

And judging by the Sound Of The Crowd, it was proven once again that the Fantastic Four are a force to be reckoned with.

Fresh from rehearsals, we were treated to four new numbers, and when the show opened with Soft Cell's Bedsitter, the audience were definitely "dancing, laughing, drinking and LOVING" the boys.

Singer Nick Creed's voice seems to become more powerful with each performance, and it was just amazing to hear his very vibrant version of Human League's Open Your Heart - another newbie on the set list.
Mark Trenchard a.k.a Little Gary Numan was enjoying the adulation from his "LGN" fans, and even cilmbed on top of his box at one point, to give a very lucky lady in the crowd a birthday kiss.
Proficient percussionist Andy Fothergill pounded his way through my personal favourite new song, Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode. He also has new "glowing drumsticks", of which he is very proud. Chris Pearson's voice is perfect for this crowd pleaser, and he sang it superbly.
To quote a gig-goer I spoke to after the show, "the 80's was all about expression and showing everyone who you are".  Well the "eye candy" of the band (and singer) Chris Pearson almost certainly puts a lot of thought into his stage outfits. This time, much to our surprise, he was all in black, as opposed to his usual white.
However, we were treated to a great "GaGa" inspired ensemble for the encore, a combination of feathers, a doyley, and of course the customary white military costume.
A cool cover of Erasure's Love to Hate You was also delivered in the encore – which proved very popular with the fans - before they ended the night on a high, and sent us all home for some very Electric Dreams.

There were a lot of new faces in the crowd, and of those that I spoke to, the feedback was fabulously positive. Same too, from their faithful fans, who attend every event. The overwhelming opinion of the night was that this was Fade2Grey's best gig yet.

So for now, we can Enjoy the Silence until the next one - another "Best 80's Party" - with The Beat and Toyah taking to the stage this time. The event takes place on Friday 28th May in the Sir John Loveridge Hall at Beau Sejour. Tickets go on sale on Monday 22nd March.

To Cut a Long Story Short, Fade2Grey are definitely here to stay...
